Basic Rules to Keeping Carpet Clean

You know the struggle it can sometimes be to keep carpet clean. You knew it before you got into it. But you can’t help but fall in love with it’s soft, cushiony side, can you? We can’t! So instead of feeling frustrated over your flooring, here are five ways you can help keep your carpet clean!

Vacuum Regularly

It can’t be avoided, friends! Your carpet must be vacuumed at least once a week with a quality vacuum cleaner (to avoid the hassle, of course). However, if you carpet experiences more foot traffic on a regular basis, you may need to increase the vacuuming. But don’t worry; it isn’t that strenuous!

House Training: Do it Right

Pet owners, we’re looking at you! If you have a pet, make sure they’re housebroken properly. Do your research and don’t skip any steps! If you have a cat, make sure they have full access to a clean litter box at all times. Make sure Fido is walked first thing in the morning. There are so many things you can do to prevent pet stains and odors!

Utilize Rugs and Runners

Rugs and runners are a great way to spice up your living space, and also help protect carpet! If you have a stubborn stain you can try to hide it with a  rug as well, but we always recommend calling in the professionals for those types of stains!

Treat Stains Immediately

Ah, this one… This one, we can’t say enough! When a spill or accident happens, treat the stain immediately! Keep proper cleaning solutions on hand and stocked up, and of course make sure you have plenty of towels or paper towels, whichever you prefer. Remember friends: the quicker you treat a stain, the more likely it is to come up!

Steam Cleaning Different Flooring

Professional Carpet Cleaner

Whether you have carpet, tile, wood, laminate, or even natural stone - there’s no doubt that the floors will start to collect dirt, dust, and other debris. Sure, the severity of mess widely depends on the extent of traffic around the home. For example; do you have kids or pets? How many? What kind of shoes are you wearing and where have they been? There are so many factors that contribute to how often your floors will need your undivided attention, but there is one thing each type of flooring has in common; they can all be steam cleaned (and they should be).

Carpeting and Cleaning

Using a steam cleaner on carpet fibers can be extremely effective for numerous situations. Whether you’re dealing with a pet accident, a wine spill, or just an overall annual deep clean - you’re in the best hands with a steam cleaning professional.

Tile and Grout

Grout is one of the most absorbent materials - it’s incredibly porous, after all. Because of this, however, it can become stained quite easily. A steam cleaning machine is able to powerfully wash the grout (and tile) with water and a natural cleaning solution. Then, the same machine can suction the water out to pull any stains or other grime that’s settled between tiles and in grout.

Hardwood

Caring meticulously for hardwood floors pays off in the long run. Although a steep investment, hardwood floors can last for centuries. In fact, there are plenty of historic homes that have the original gorgeous hardwood floors throughout! Steam cleaning is a great way to ensure that hardwoods are properly cared for - no dirt, dust, or other grime is going to get in the way of its appearance (or longevity).
