Oriental rugs can really stick around for awhile if we take a few precautions when taking care of them! Follow these five guidelines for your Oriental rugs and you’re bound to see improvement, and elongate their lifespan. The Steam Team has over ten years of taking extraordinary care of oriental rugs, so we want to help you help your rugs, too!
For rugs in high traffic areas, it’s best to rotate them periodically. Try doing it once every two to three months. Doing so will help distribute the wear and tear more evenly, which will keep your rug looking more uniform and aesthetically appealing! Rug cleaning plant located at 9901 Burnet Rd. Austin, Texas 78758 .
Avoid Sunny Areas
The sun is notorious for causing fading and discoloration in oriental rugs and carpets. To prevent this from happening, rotate your rugs on the regular like we mentioned before, or place them in areas where the sunlight won’t be an issue! You can also hang blinds and shades to help with blocking out the sun.
Vacuum, Vacuum, Vacuum
We’re sorry to say it, but, you’re not going to get out of this one, friends! Excess traffic can cause the carpet fibers in a rug to become matted down, but vacuuming can help with this! Vacuum once a week to pick up dirt, dust mites, dander, allergens, and more.
Utilize Carpet Padding
If you place padding underneath your oriental rug, you can help to reduce wrinkling, preserve its shape, and keep it stabilized!
